Organized by department and role (plant-defined)
LibraForge uses a simple, consistent /ftp/<Department>/<Role>/ structure.
While departments and roles are required, their meaning is fully defined by the plant.
- Departments may represent equipment, process areas, production lines, sites, or any structure the facility chooses.
- Roles represent areas of responsibility or expertise such as mechanical, electrical, production, safety, or others defined by the plant.
- Unlimited subfolders within each role support real-world workflows.
- Access permissions are configured by the plant to match how work is performed.
Fine-grained permissions
LibraForge uses a clear, role-based permission model to balance control with day-to-day usability.
- Superusers define departments, roles, and users across the system.
- Department admins manage folders and content within their assigned departments and roles.
- Standard users can access documents and complete assigned work according to plant policy.
- Department roots and role folders are protected to preserve structure and integrity.
- Configuration functions are kept separate from daily document and form usage.
Built-in Forms & Compliance
LibraForge includes a browser-based form system for maintenance, inspections, and procedures.
Forms follow a structured workflow so every change is tracked and every submission produces a signed PDF record.
- Schema → Published Form → Completed Form workflow
- Version numbers (e.g., 1.0.2) with cryptographic hashes for traceability
- Signed PDF output including technician, timestamps, and verification hash
- Clear audit trail from the original schema through final completed record
Form Builder & Online Designer
LibraForge includes a browser-based form builder for creating preventive maintenance and inspection templates,
designed for practical use on phones and tablets.
- Forms are built using tasks and steps with clear operations and descriptions.
- Steps may include optional input fields such as text, number, select and option boxes, photo, or signature, with required flags where applicable.
- “Save”, “Save As”, and “Publish” controls manage form versions and release workflow.
- The interface automatically adapts to small screens with a mobile-friendly stacked layout.
Automatic media optimization
LibraForge automatically processes uploaded photos and videos so they are fast to load,
easy to view, and consistent across devices.
- Images are converted to optimized JPEG files (approximately 1600px width at ~80% quality).
- Videos are transcoded to MP4 (H.264), up to 1080p, for reliable browser playback.
- Common formats including HEIC/HEIF, PNG, JPEG, MOV, and MP4 are supported.
- Only the optimized media files are stored to conserve space and maintain uniform formats.
Built-in Wi-Fi Access Point
LibraForge includes an integrated Wi-Fi access point so it can be deployed anywhere —
at the machine, in cabinets, or on the plant floor — without relying on plant networks.
- Users connect directly to the device for immediate access.
- Wireless settings and hostname are configurable through the web interface.
- Optional Ethernet connectivity is available when integration with a plant network is desired.
